The City of Cape Town will soon be releasing a draft tourism development framework (TDF) for Cape Town that is expected to expand tourism beyond the already well-known tourist attractions the city offers.
The framework is aimed at taking tourism in Cape Town to the next level and create sustainable jobs for the people of Cape Town.
Mayco member for economic opportunities and asset management, James Vos explains why the soon to be released draft tourism development framework will help tourism improve the tourism offerings in the city.

We want to diversify the tourism landscape. We want to take tourism to the next level.— James Vos, Mayco member for economic opportunities and asset management
The framework will help us achieve certain goals at certain time frames.— James Vos, Mayco member for economic opportunities and asset management
In addition, Vos says the plan is to develop new products that are market ready as well as developing talent within communities.
This is in response to concerns that people from outside communities bring in tourists and make money there instead of the communities themselves.
But Vos says that will be a thing of the past.
The Tourism Development Framework will be released in February, says Vos.
